ConQuest! Boys Clubs for Catholic Children and Youth

From Heidi Coghlan, for About.com

Focus and Goals:

ConQuest is based on Catholic principles of spiritual development. Its programs are designed to instill virtue, develop character and encourage spiritual growth, while offering its participants challenging physical, intellectual and spiritual activities within an atmosphere of adventure.

Age Level:

  • ConQuest Father and Son Program, ages 5-7: Fathers participate with their sons as they learn about Biblical heroes.

  • ConQuest Junior Program, ages 8-10: Boys learn more about Jesus as Friend and Brother and also His obedience to God.

  • The ConQuest Club, ages 11-16: Boys develop Catholic leadership skills and participate in various activities, both social and volunteer.

Activities:

ConQuest provides educational, athletic and spiritual programs through which young boys develop friendships and have fun while building their relationship with Christ and learning to be Christian leaders. Conquest offers both year round and summer camp programs.

  • Catholic boys develop friendships with others who share their faith
Cons:
  • As a single-faith organization, boys may not develop an appreciation for others in their world.
