Challenger Game in the Little League World Series

Friday August 24, 2007

At 10am on Saturday, 25 August two teams from the Little League Challenger Division will take the field in Pennsylvania.

Challenger Division gives kids with disabilities the chance to play baseball. It's a win-win game -- everyone bats, everyone crosses home plate, and everyone plays in the field. Challenger players have buddies that help them when needed and encourage them in the game.

In past Challenger World Series games, the President has placed the ball on the tee and given the infamous command "Play Ball!" How awesome for these special players! I have been unable to find details about this year's game, and it appears it isn't being broadcast (Shame, too. I want to watch it.), but I'm guessing the President will turn out again. I will be scouring the net and my cable channels for more. If you have any details, leave a note.
