National S'More Day
Even as a Girl Scout, I had no idea there was such a thing as National S'More Day. Apparently, there is and it's August 11th. This is just too much!
But there is no such thing as too much of the tasty treat made famous by, though not invented by, the Girl Scouts. 80 years ago, the recipe appeared in the Girl Scout Handbook and has been a Girl Scout tradition ever since. I know my troop can't go camping without making them. We even used an indoor fireplace one year when we were kept inside by a major rainstorm.
Just in case you're out of the loop, a s'more is made by toasting a marshmallow over a campfire and squashing it between two graham crackers along with a piece of chocolate. The warm marshmallow melts the chocolate and oozes all over. Yum!
These days, you can do this in the microwave, but it just isn't as fun.
Either way, this yummy snack will leave you wanting s'more (some more, get it?)

I updated wikipedia. This “National Day” is complete unsubstantiated and seems to be fallacious.
Aw. Well, it SHOULD be a national day!
